my journey to kenya

When I was just ten years of age my uncle decided it was time to get me to a better school for better Education.well at first I was very excited and couldnt wait to leave.I was very happy because I was going to a better place and away from the village, but it turned to be out worse than I thought, it turned out I was being taken kakuma camp I wasnt expecting any place like that. Very dry, hot and oh boy a lot of killing most of the time especially at night, It feels like you been traped in a little box because their wasnt much of freedom especially for kids, you must be home before the sun goes down.At about eight you find everyone of the streets because of saftey , but really enjoyed the fact that I was attending school, but hated the fact we get beaten up most of the time for misbehaving especially if you in a bad class.

Michael Jackson’s This Is It

Men often hate each other because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don’t know each other; they don’t know each other because they cannot communicate; they cannot communicate because they are separated.

my interview with lisa tomlins

Fijian Flyer
Prasheel Wilson, 17, grew up in a city called Suva in Fiji. He arrived in New Zealand four years again and lives in Naenae, Wellington with his Mum, Dad and little sister. Prasheel didn’t make the decision to come to New Zealand; he was adopted by his Aunty after his parents split up.
The 17-year-old it didn’t make a big difference because he was adopted to family members. He says life hasn’t changed much even though he misses his hometown. He says life’s not so different, just missing the palm trees and the outdoor sports he used to enjoy with friends.
Prasheel is in school so far, studying at Naenae College and has a big dream of becoming an international pilot. The pilot dreamer said, “I was chasing a bird and I couldn’t catch it.” He says he’s had this dream since he was just a little boy.
He is very committed to his studies, he’s only got his mind on one thing and that is to be an international pilot not matter what it takes. He says he would like to travel the world in the future and have adventure.
